First Week

I feel like a year has gone by since last week when I arrived. We had a snowstorm today. I love having animals around me. The goats have been have babies and the life here is an eye opener. The cheese cave is very precise, scientific, and very delicious! I've tasted the camembrie and chevre (herb and maple). I'm getting back into cooking and all these fresh products from the farm really help inspire me. BLT's with bacon from the farm, chevre on Greg's famous sourdough bread with field greens, pork chops with baked acorn squash glazed with vermont maple syrup, and today chocolate chip cookies made with an egg from the chickens.

Tonight while i was trudging through the snowstorm to my car, I looked at the snow blowing across the fields and the faint silhouette of the grain tower in the distance. No matter how cold and miserable it was, it was all so dramatic and breathtaking. I'm having my experience.
